What to expect when your lease ends

 

No matter which option fits you best, getting ready for end of lease process is simple as 1,2,3!

 

1. What to do when your lease end date is approaching?

Lessee will be contacted by Subaru Motor Finance prior to the lease's expiration giving them information on how they can get a final lease end inspection of the vehicle prior to returning it.  To avoid any unexpected charges after final inspection is done by AutoVIN, we strongly recommend to perform your own Pre-inspection before your scheduled vehicle inspection.  Use the Subaru Wear and Use Guide to help you anticipate potential lease-end charges. According to the lease contract you are responsible for excess wear and use, especially tires condition, any glass damage and vehicle body damage including scratched over 2", dings and dents over 3 per body panel, and interior burn holes, stains, cuts or tears. 

If you choose to make repairs before final inspection, our Flemington Subaru Dealership is available to ensure proper repairs with genuine Subaru parts. Some vehicle damage may be covered by your vehicle insurance. Be sure to allow sufficient time for claim processing and repairs before you return your vehicle.  Then Schedule your Lease-End Inspection.

If you do not get a pre-inspection, an inspection will be completed after you turn-in your vehicle, and you will not have the opportunity to make repairs. Applicable excess wear and use charges will appear on your final Lease-End Bill.

2. Schedule your Lease End Inspection

To avoid any unexpected charges after final inspection is done by AutoVIN, we strongly recommend to perform your own Pre-inspection before your scheduled vehicle inspection.  Make sure your vehicle is clean and all additional accessories, keys and owner's manual are in the vehicle.  Understanding this assessment before lease-end allows time to arrange for any desired repairs before returning your vehicle.

A pre-inspection is an evaluation of the wear and use on your vehicle so you can anticipate potential lease-end charges. Pre-inspections are completed by an independent inspection company, AutoVIN, and can be arranged at your home, office, or other convenient location. You can review your online condition report about 24 hours after your appointment. Schedule your complimentary pre-inspection, at least 45 days prior to your turn-in date to ensure you receive an appointment that fits your schedule. 3. Return your Leased vehicle to Flemington Subaru

On or before the expiration date of your lease, come into our Subaru dealership in Flemington NJ, located on 167 Route 31, to turn in your leased vehicle. You do not need to return your Subaru leased vehicle to your original Subaru dealer. You can return your Subaru leased vehicle to any authorized Subaru dealership as long as you have completed the necessary vehicle inspection prior to your expiration date. 

4. Do not forget that you still have four options at lease end.

a) Turn-in your Subaru and Purchase or Lease a New Vehicle.

Our Subaru Dealership in Flemington, New Jersey will work with you applying all current available incentives to get you a great deal when you lease or purchase a new Subaru model. b) Purchase Your Leased Subaru

You can purchase your leased Subaru at any time during your contract at the pre-determined buyback amount. If you purchase your vehicle prior to the lease end, you will be responsible for all remaining payments.  You may also purchase your vehicle at the end of your lease period. When you purchase your leased Subaru, there is no need to have your vehicle inspected, and you will be not responsible for any wear and use charges based on such inspection.

c) Return Your Leased Subaru

Return your leased Subaru to us, even if you decide not to lease or purchase a new Subaru model. You will need to schedule an AutoVIN inspection mentioned above and you will be responsible for any remaining payments, excess wear and tear and any other end-of-term obligations that were specified in your lease agreement.

 

d) Sell your leased vehicle to us.

You may bring your vehicle to us and offer it for sale to our Pre-Owned Manager. In some cases, we can purchase your leased Subaru vehicle and you will be NOT RESPONSIBLE for any lease end obligations including disposition fee, any excess wear and tear charges etc. To discuss this option, please set up an appointment with our Pre-Owned Manager.
